Frequently Asked Questions
Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Tick “Leave the first page (cover) without a number”: the cover stays clean and page 2 shows your start number. A start number of 0 does the same — page 0 is never printed.
Can I use Roman numerals for introduction pages?
Yes. Pick i, ii, iii or I, II, III under Style. One style covers the whole file, so for i–iv on the front matter and 1, 2, 3 after it, split the PDF, number each part, then merge them.

I reread this page and it promised Roman numerals, a way to skip the cover, and your choice of font, size and colour. The tool could do none of that: it printed "1 / 10" in small grey Helvetica, and a start number of 0 put "0 / 9" on the cover. All of it is real now: styles 1 / 10, 1, Page 1 of 10, i, ii, iii and I, II, III, a tick box that leaves the cover blank, three fonts, a size and a colour. A start of 0 also skips the cover, like the FAQ always said.
Page numbers on pages turned sideways in the viewer used to sit along the side, and on cropped pages they fell outside the crop and didn't show at all. They now go where you asked on the page as you see it.
