Privacy Policy — ToolKoala
Hi, I'm Milo 🐨. I wrote this page myself, in plain language, because most privacy pages are written by lawyers for other lawyers. Here's the deal:
Last updated: April 2026
The short version
Your files never leave your device. Every image, PDF, or text block you drop into a ToolKoala tool is processed inside your browser tab. We do not upload it, store it, transmit it to a server, or share it with any third party.
What we do collect
We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are popular and fix broken pages. This collects anonymous usage data — page views, approximate country, browser type, and referrer. It does not collect your files or the contents of any tool.
Advertising (pending)
ToolKoala does not currently display ads. The plan is to apply for Google AdSense; if approved, ads will appear in fixed slots on tool pages and the blog. Google and its partners may then use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You would be able to opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. For details, see Google's advertising policy.
If AdSense doesn't approve, the alternative is referral / affiliate sponsorships from products Milo personally uses — disclosed clearly when present, with no behavioral tracking.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies for language preference and Google Analytics' anonymous analytics cookies. If Google AdSense is approved and goes live, it will also set third-party cookies for ad delivery and measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will still work.
Data we never see
- Your uploaded or processed files
- Text you paste into conversion tools
- Passwords generated, hashes computed, or QR codes encoded
- EXIF data you strip from photos
Because all processing is client-side, this data never reaches us in any form.
Children
ToolKoala is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page.
