🔀 SVG to Image
Turn an SVG into a PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF image: pick the format, the size and the background
✓ Free Forever · ✓ No Signup · ✓ No Upload · ✓ Works Offline
🔒 Your image never leaves your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using SVG drawn by your browser on a canvas; PNG, JPG and WebP from the canvas, AVIF from a WebAssembly libavif encoder. No upload, no server, no tracking.
Features
- Four formats — PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF from the same SVG. Switch the format and convert again, no re-upload.
- Any size — 1x to 4x of the SVG's own size, or an exact width and height in pixels. An icon with only a viewBox is sized from its viewBox.
- Quality slider — For JPG, WebP and AVIF: lower quality, smaller file. PNG is always lossless.
- Many SVGs at once — Drop a folder's worth of icons: every one gets the same format, scale and background, in one ZIP.
How It Works
- Add your SVG — Drop one or more .svg files, or paste SVG code.
- Pick the format — PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF, then the scale or an exact size, the background and, for the lossy formats, the quality.
- Convert and download — One SVG downloads as a single image; several come as a ZIP named after the format.
Use Cases
- Export a logo as WebP or AVIF for a fast website
- Make a JPG of an SVG for an email or a form that won't take SVG
- Render app icons as transparent PNGs at 2x or 3x
- Turn a whole icon set into one format in one go
Frequently Asked Questions
Which format should I pick?
PNG for icons and logos that need sharp edges and transparency. JPG when something only accepts JPG, or for a full-colour illustration on a solid background (no transparency). WebP for websites: smaller than PNG and still transparent. AVIF for the smallest file, if the place you use it supports AVIF.
Which formats keep transparency?
PNG, WebP and AVIF. JPG has no transparency at all, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour, white unless you pick another.
Does WebP work in every browser?
Every current browser shows WebP. Saving it is different: Chrome, Edge and Firefox can write WebP from a web page, Safari can't. In Safari the page says so before you convert and gives you a PNG named .png, never a PNG under a .webp name.
Why does AVIF take longer?
No browser can save AVIF from a web page on its own, so this page uses its own encoder (libavif, compiled to WebAssembly) on your device. It compresses harder than the others, so it takes a few seconds for a big image. The encoder (about 3.5 MB) downloads from toolkoala.com the first time you pick AVIF.
Will it remember my format?
Yes. This page opens on the format you used last (stored in your browser only). SVG to PNG, SVG to JPG and SVG to WebP always open on their own format.
Are my SVGs uploaded?
No. Your browser draws the SVG and encodes the image on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Notes from Milo 🐨
SVG to PNG only ever made PNGs, and an SVG often needs to become something else: a JPG for a form that won't take anything else, a WebP for a website, AVIF for the smallest file. So this page lets you pick. PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF, with a quality slider for the three that have one, and a whole folder of SVGs comes back as one ZIP in the format you chose. It tells you the catches before you convert: JPG can't be transparent, so those parts get your background colour (white unless you pick another); Safari can't write WebP, so there you get a real PNG, not a PNG wearing a .webp name; AVIF is made by an encoder that runs on your device, so it takes a few seconds. It remembers the format you used last.
