Frequently Asked Questions

Will content be scaled or cropped?

You choose. "Fit to page" scales each page evenly until it fits and centres it, so nothing is stretched or cut off. "Keep original size" leaves it at 100 % and centres it; a page bigger than the new size loses its edges, and the tool lists which pages that happened to.

Can I set different sizes per page?

One size per pass. Landscape pages get the landscape version of it unless you set Orientation to Portrait or Landscape. To mix sizes, split the PDF, resize each part and merge them again.

Typed "2,5" into a size box on a German, Spanish or Portuguese page? The browser's number box quietly dropped the comma and read 25. The box now reads a comma or a dot as the decimal mark, so 2,5 is 2.5.

I tested this with awkward pages and didn't like what I saw. A cropped page came back at its old size, a landscape page was squeezed into the bottom half of a portrait sheet, and nothing was centred, so Letter to A4 left a white band at the top. And the custom size this page promised wasn't there. Now every page is centred on the new sheet as you see it. Landscape pages get a landscape sheet unless you say otherwise, links move with the content, and you can type your own size in mm, inches or points. You can also keep pages at 100 % instead of fitting them.
