I tried my own meme maker on a phone photo and the caption came out as a tiny smudge at the top: the size slider was in pixels, so 48 px was huge on a small template and barely visible on a 12-megapixel picture. The size is now a share of the picture, so it looks the same on both. A Chinese or Japanese caption used to run off both edges, because it has no spaces to wrap at; now it wraps between characters, very long words break too, and a caption too long for its half of the picture shrinks rather than running into the other one. A JPEG comes back as a JPEG (not a PNG ten times the size), and if you drop something that isn't an image, the page tells you.
