Frequently Asked Questions
Will the layout be pixel-perfect?
Exact picture is: each slide is a picture of the page. With Editable text, the words are set again by PowerPoint, so a line can come out a little wider or narrower than on the page — most when the PDF used a font your computer doesn't have and PowerPoint picks a stand-in. Everything that isn't text stays exactly as on the page.
Are pictures and shapes editable too?
No. They stay one picture behind the text boxes; you can still crop, move or replace it. A PDF stores drawings as page content, not as PowerPoint shapes, so only the text comes back as something you can edit.
Why isn't the slide 16:9?
Because the page isn't. Each slide has the page's shape, so nothing is stretched or cut off. To change it afterwards, use Design → Slide Size in PowerPoint and choose Ensure Fit.
Scanned PDFs?
A scan has no text to edit, so its slide is a picture of the page, and the page tells you which ones. If the scan already carries a hidden OCR text layer, that text goes into the slide's speaker notes so you can copy it.

I converted a plain A4 report and opened the result: the page had been squeezed onto a widescreen slide, two and a half times too wide, and it was a single picture — not one word in the file could be edited, although this page promised editable text boxes. Now every slide has the shape of its page, and the text comes back as real text boxes in the same place, size and colour, bold and italic kept, over a picture of everything else (drawn without the text, so nothing shows twice). Scans say which pages are pictures only, and if you'd rather have slides that look exactly like the pages, pick "Exact picture".
