Why PNG over JPG?
PNG is lossless and supports transparency — best for diagrams, screenshots, and any image you might edit further. JPG is smaller for photos.
Does it support transparency?
Yes — tick “Transparent background”. Wherever the page itself draws nothing, the PNG is see-through; a PDF that paints a white rectangle behind its content (many scans and exports do) stays white there. Without the tick every page is saved on white paper.
Max file size?
Around 100 MB on most devices.
Does it upload my PDF?
No. All rendering is local in your browser.

I built a test PDF the way many Chinese and Japanese forms are made — text in a standard font the file doesn't carry — and every line of text came back missing. The PDF engine needs a small table to draw those fonts, and I'd never shipped it; a page holding a JPEG 2000 picture (common in scanned books) came out white for the same reason. Both now come from this site and draw properly — and the same fix reaches every other PDF tool here (PDF to Text was returning those pages empty). You can also tick "Transparent background" for PNG or WebP, and a page too big for your browser at the chosen size is saved smaller with a note instead of failing the whole file.
I converted a 3-page PDF and pressed Download All: one image arrived, because the browser blocks a burst of downloads. It's now one ZIP with every page, named after your PDF (report-page-1.png …). Changing the format or the scale after converting used to leave the old images in place under new names, so a "JPG" could really be a PNG; now the pages are simply redrawn. There's a 4x (288 DPI) option for print, a PDF from a phone without a proper file type works, and a password-protected or damaged PDF gets a clear message (with a link to Unlock PDF) instead of nothing happening.
