Frequently Asked Questions
How does the animal silhouette quiz work?
Each round blacks out an animal emoji so only its outline is visible, then offers four animal names. Pick the right one before the clock runs out — 15 rounds, faster answers worth more. When you answer, the colour fades back in so you can see what it was.
Why is the cat missing sometimes?
A few animals are left out of the answer pool because their outline is identical to another one. The black cat and the cat are the same drawing in two colours, and panda and bear share a shape — as silhouettes they would be two correct answers to one question, so only one of each pair is used.
Are there plants in this quiz?
No. Unicode files animals and plants together under "Animals & Nature", which would let a quiz called "guess the animal" answer "deciduous tree". I filter down to the actual animal categories, so every answer is a creature.
How are the wrong answers chosen?
By shape. I compared every animal outline against every other one and the harder levels draw their wrong answers from the closest matches, so you get goat-llama-horse rather than horse-octopus-bee.
